SPEAKER: Melissa J. Nixon
The boss, the kids, aging parents, even an aging car – some days it seems like every one, and every thing, needs something from you. There isn’t enough time! If it weren’t for “circumstances beyond our control” we could achieve more, right? But there are ways to channel these challenges so you can keep on track… This session is designed to help you learn how to own the results of your life, career, and business. Each participant will learn: how to manage goal expectations; how to be in control in the midst of chaos; and, how to know what is your right next step.
SPEAKERS: Carolina Castaneda del Rio & Freda Casillas
You’ve been on an exciting professional trajectory – and now you see (or are afraid to look at!) a flattening in that curve ahead. This is the time to plan for the next stage and identify new challenges – even to be the source of your own challenges. Many of us reach a point when we have done what others needed and expected; the possibility of choosing your own path can be paralyzing. So what is going to jumpstart (excite) you for that next stage? The curve ahead may look different than early-stage career, and that’s just fine; the trick is making it what you choose, whether that means finding new challenge in current work or striking out in new directions.
SPEAKER: Marlene Yesquen
Who enjoys difficult conversations? Many of us fear conflict or not being liked – but conflict is inevitable if we accept that others have their own values and opinions. Difficult conversations actually help leaders be successful; you don’t have to like these conversations, you just have to be willing to tackle tough conversations that surface and work through issues. In this seminar, hear about our presenter's personal experience with difficult conversations, and learn what you can do to make this sort of challenge easier -whether it be with co-workers, employees, bosses or even friends and family.
SPEAKER: Katie Hutchinson
Have you shrunk from “networking” activities, seeing them as shallow or self-serving? In truth, networking is about building relationships. In this session you will think about how you spend your time and who surrounds you, and discuss what it means to connect in order to create a network based on substance, built on experience. Be prepared to challenge yourself with activities that demonstrate relationship building and, ultimately, networking.

Not sure what you want to be "when you grow up"? Don’t just sit around until you do! Even past accomplishments don't insulate leaders from uncertainty. Whether you've moved to a new city, faced down a career transition, or are dealing with other life changes, don't wait for calmer waters; necessity is the mother of invention--and reinvention! Uncertainty is no reason to stand still, because even as life pushes you in a new direction, those first steps can lead you right to surprising new paths. In this workshop, we'll explore concrete actions to help lead you to achievement.

Who or what are we responsible to? And who or what is responsible for us and our well-being? As the prayer from the Hopi Elders reminds us- we are the ones we have been waiting for. This will be a very interactive session among participants using the individual and collective thinking, wisdom and imaginations in the room to explore the opportunity, challenge and necessity of service. We will unpack together how service to one’s community influences personal growth and professional development, and also is a critical component of sustaining and evolving a healthy community.
SPEAKER: Loren Fogelman
Many businesses are highly successful without ever developing a business plan. Or they end up tucked away in the back of your file cabinet. That's because business plans fail to capture your purpose and inspiration. When you're pursuing something most people are telling you will fail, then traditional plans and goals are not enough. Grasping the activity, the strategy and the tactics are vital. Entrepreneurs who are on a mission possess a secret...and it's frequently the missing piece to growing your ideal business. During this action-packed training you'll learn: * Why it's okay to trash the business plan - and what captures your excitement. * The ideal response when nothing seems to be working. * How failure leads to success. The keys to success are counter-intuitive. Rise up to the challenge, control your agenda and leap to the next level of success!
SPEAKER: Jennifer Joss
By this time in the conference, you’ve been stretched, inspired, had thoughts and maybe even made plans for how to use what you’ve learned to grow yourself and your contribution. Now what? Behavioral science has a lot to say about creating new habits and achieving your goals. Together we will explore the science and practice of developing yourself. We will zoom out to find your purpose, zoom in to create simple triggers and commitment devices, and plan for the mental and emotional traps that prevent us from fulfilling our aspirations. Be prepared to participate fully, coach and be coached, and create concrete plans for turning your dreams into outcomes.
