The mission of the Women’s Leadership Conference (WLC) of Southern Oregon is to foster leadership in business, government and nonprofit organizations that more fully reflects our community.
Thanks to the generosity of WLC’s sponsors, we are able to provide partial need-based scholarships for 10% of available conference seats each year as well as a reduced registration fee for students. Students do not need to apply for a scholarship and should simply register with their student email for the conference and click yes to student status to receive the discounted rate. The standard registration fee for the conference is $85. In 2021, the registration cost for scholarship awardees will be $10 and the registration cost for students will be reduced to $25. These amounts are further reduced this year due to the virtual environment.
Each year the scholarship amount may vary depending on the number of applicants and the available budget.
To apply for a scholarship:
- Please complete the online scholarship application below
- Applications are accepted until April 1st
- Applicants will be notified by email on the status of their application by April 15th
- Please DO NOT register for the conference until you have received notice on the status of your application.
Your scholarship application will be reviewed by a committee of the Women’s Leadership Conference board of directors and will be based on a scoring system. The scoring system is based on reducing financial and other barriers to participation and prioritizes individuals who bring greater attendance diversity. This might include individuals who are underrepresented in the conference, including but not limited to ability, age, class, ethnicity, gender, language, nation of origin, race, religion, sexual orientation and other identities. Priority will also be given to rural residents, first time attendees, professionals returning to work after a significant absence or seeking work, those who are self-employed or entrepreneurs, and new professionals.
